Our Graduates - Flying Away on Golden Wings

We wish to acknowledge some local students who began with Cocoon as little children and have since graduated from High School and flown off on their own journeys: Sarah and Katie Krokey, Harmony Stemple, Lila Nawrocki, Oliver Roe, Naomi Hard, Lia Colwell, and Meredith Posner.

The students shown on this page struggled right along with us through many years and many productions, and shared their intelligence and talent to help build Cocoon into a viable, dependable, respected organization. See their histories with Cocoon below.

Stasha Rosen (2007)

Stasha has studied with Cocoon since she was 7 years old. Her first show was The Blue Bird, followed by many others: Godspell, The Pied Piper of Hamelin (Twice! Once as a rat, then as the Piper), The Princess Bride, Silent Movie I, Living Threads II, The Elephant’s Child, Historical Ghosts, Cocoon Modern Dance Company Member in Listen and Shipwrecked, Romeo & Juliet, Lord of the Flies, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, and The Sleeping Beauty.

She’s played a singing frog, a dancing ghost, an angry policeman, a bi-colored python rock snake, a crazy housewife with a chainsaw, and a giant, and she’s danced as a leaf, covered with mud and hanging upside down blowing balloons. She must be the healthiest person on the planet. She is beautiful, talented, intelligent and creative…and she possesses one strange sense of humor! Cocoon is honored to have been a part of her creative growth, and we wish her all the best in her studies at Yale.
To Stasha Rosen in honor of your dedication to your studies, and to your family for all their support.

Sarah Hale-Rude (2006)

Sarah Hale-Rude has been with Cocoon since she was 6 years old. Her credits include: 2004 Scholarship Recipient, Black Beauty, Watership Down, The Silver Chair, The Princess Bride, Mary Poppins, Peter Pan, Oliver!, Assimilation, Silent Movie, and The Crucible. She’s been a tortured rabbit, a dying author, a frightened schoolgirl, a tied aristocrat, a strange-creature-thing with a foot-long nose & long stringy hair, and an evil Count. She is an accomplished writer who took Cocoon’s playwriting class. She is now at Simon’s Rock, but comes back to take dance class and run concession and watch rehearsals. 16 years old, January 2006.
Good Luck Sarah - fly away!
